I was a born into a U.S. Air Force family at Bitburg Air Base in Germany. My father was a fighter pilot and we went wherever he was stationed moving every two years on average.
I grew up in places like Tacoma, Washington, Hampton, Virginia, Warner Robins, Georgia, Sacramento, California and Ottawa, Ontario among others. I attended New Mexico State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology.
I am currently an IT manager for Intel Corporation managing the automation infrastructure for Fab 11x in Rio Rancho, NM. My wife and I have one daughter between us and my two step-children have provided us with no less than seven grandchildren. Needless to say, keeping up with that many little ones requires a certain level of fitness!
Swimming was always my primary year round sport growing up and I specialized in backstroke and freestyle. I have also been an avid cyclist for most of my life. I was fortunate enough a few years back to fulfill a lifelong goal of completing a cross country bicycle tour that took me all the way on two wheels from the coast of Oregon to the coast of New Hampshire.
I continue to enjoy both activities, but over the years I began to look for a more effective and time efficient means of improving and maintaining my fitness level. My search led me a number of years ago to the incredible instructors at Firebellz where I’ve been training for the last four years.
It has been nothing short of amazing how training with kettlebells has resulted in such an improved overall fitness level and increased levels of overall strength. Equally impressive is how that new found power has transferred to increased abilities and levels of performance in the other sports.
In an ongoing effort toward constant improvement I sought certification through RKC previously, and now SFG. I thoroughly enjoy the opportunities to share what I’ve learned and continue to learn alongside the vastly experienced and knowledgeable staff at Firebellz.
