Rebecca Romans has called Albuquerque home since 1993. She holds a passion for kettlebells since early 2012. Her certifications are current with StrongFirst with SFG I, II and SFB. She is studying to receive her 200 hour yoga teacher training by October. She provides instruction to individuals and small groups in both small and large gym settings. She enjoys sharing and training techniques for stronger movements with yoga, bodyweight and kettlebell disciplines. Her goals are to share with others myofascial work, tension and relaxation paired together, technique fine-tuning, lasting and increased strength, greater physical self-awareness with mindful, safe movements. And lastly, her desire is to share in the many “a-ha” moments a trainee discovers from continued training and self-development.
Lilibeth is a native New Jerseyan with a long background in health and fitness. She obtained her Master of Public Health in Health Education and Promotion from the University of South Carolina after finishing college, and went on to obtain her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine. She currently works at Presbyterian Health System as a Physician Advisor, semi-retiring from a surgical career spanning 14 years.
Lilibeth has been recreationally active in all sorts of sports and exercise activities – softball, volleyball, running, tennis, horseback riding, snowboarding, even step aerobics. She completed the Marine Corps Marathon in 1998, with the consequence of painful knees and a subsequent aversion to running. She began training with kettlebells at Firebellz in 2010 in an effort to lose weight from her first pregnancy over a year earlier. She successfully completed BTC I weighing less than before her pregnancy and with a lot more strength than ever. She also discovered that her knees hurt a lot less, thanks to finally learning how to properly train!
Her passion for kettlebells and strength training led her to obtain her SFG I certification in March 2013. She continued with the StrongFirst Bodyweight certification (SFB) in May 2013, StrongFirst Barbell certification (SFL) in July 2013, and her SFG II certification in March 2014. Most recently, she competed in her first powerlifting event in December 2018, setting the New Mexico state records in all lifts for her class.
Lilibeth’s commitment to Firebellz has grown as well; she is an instructor for Spark and All Levels, and has been involved with running the StrongFirst Tactical Strength Challenge at the facility several years running.
Lilibeth is the proud mommy of two girls, who LOVE to go to Disney World as much as she does!
